This project introduces an innovative method for crafting polyurethane foam prototypes using 3D-printed PVA molds, addressing the challenges of foam's uncontrolled expansion. By leveraging dissolvable molds, users can precisely shape polyurethane foam while preserving its unique lightweight and strong properties.
Designed for accessibility, this method allows makers to create complex shapes without the need for specialized equipment, broadening the material's applications beyond traditional insulation. The study also evaluated three types of polyurethane foam, analyzing their distinct characteristics to guide users in selecting the most suitable foam for their projects.
This research empowers individual makers and designers to explore the full potential of polyurethane foam in prototyping, combining material flexibility with precision and ease of use.
